"The Countess Of Sadness"
By: Rita Odeh, Nazareth

Silently,
as she observes
the wren's jointly dance
with a white charming cloud,
the Iris folds
her new- born petals
withdrawing a dream
heaped with wheat ;
drifting behind tears
which kept sprinkling
her leaves
till the stars
grew dim...

Silently,
the shadow of two in dance
grows transparent
so the sparrow of yearning
loses countless feathers.

Silently,
bored spiders
start weaving webs
on the remnants
of a lost dream,
while, the Countess
of sadness
rides the cloud less beaming
heading towards rivers,
fields and white pure
flakes of snow.

Finally,
the rainbow
of the far
gloomy horizon
is restored.

Her Ghost
By: Rita Odeh, Nazareth

Slipping out of
the scarecrow pocket
asking to be
...re-caught

Stirring the mud in
the bottom ofa sparrow’s dream

Sucking the sap of
A swallow’s stream…

,Re-sinking in vague darkness
Leaving the sense of a ghostly steam

“Descending the Cross”
By: Rita Odeh, Nazareth

A tiny butterfly
in a spider’s web

Fighting for the right
,to enjoy the scents of joy
seeds of soy

to descend the cross
to make her unique floss
,to grow, not to bow
to run after the rainbow

to reject the fate of siege
the wailing of Troy

“Dancing With Words”
By: Rita Odeh, Nazareth

,Come dance with me
...with words unlike common words
,high leaps beyond borders
where you will see
what a butterfly may see
,when in love with a rose
what a cricket can hear
,after a heavy rain shower
what a sea can say
...at the first touch with the shore
,come soar with me
...once with, once against the wind
,across clouds, mountains and hills
...under the grace of the high moment
,come defeat the dragon
,fight the dark
,trace the rainbow
,fool the wolf
,eat some of Little Red Riding Hood's sweet cakes
,wear Cinderella' charming shoes
...feel the wonder of the word
for the world
:will one day tell
,merely, those crazy poets can sing
.the sparrows' merriest songs

“Memories”
By: Rita Odeh, Nazareth

He sent me an old pebble
from the holy land,a shard

Whenever I hold it
I cry hard...

the dying scream
the drying sky

the bubbles of dream
the endless sigh
